What’s next for HR in 2013

What makes me excited to work in HR is that the field is always changing. And I love to juggle with changes, deal with it and learn from it.

We all have seen when HR was once considered as just an administrative job but now the business has recognized it to be both operational and strategic. Then we got a seat at the table! Facebook’s status update – Best place to work in 2013

Employees have voted Facebook as the Best place to work for in 2013 as per Employee’s Choice Award. I have been researching a lot about companies and their work culture to know what makes their employees feel excited to get to work everyday. And I must say, Glassdoor reviews help us understand exactly this from the people who work in these companies. (more…)

Presenting your Job Description & Company Culture graphically pays off

You might have noticed the Work at Work cartoon series at my blog. Well, let me tell you why did I start it in the first place. I was doing a study about my Facebook likes and shares and I noticed my readers share pictures more than interesting and helpful articles. It is a general study that I did in which I found that the tendency of sharing pictures over written articles is 60% more. Employers hire your Personality

If your cell phone rings during a job interview you are going to make your interviewer angry! But what if your mobile phone has it’s ring tone set to the sound of your dogs barking and were to ring during the interview. Lebron James. Skip Bayless. And HR lessons?

One of the sports shows that my husband and I don’t miss to watch everyday is ESPN’s ‘First take’ with Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith. If you are familiar with them then you would ask me who do I enjoy listening to more? It is Skip Bayless. Of course. Because he always speaks contrary to general opinion. When the NBA season kicked off last week, more than their discussions, my attention was driven to LeBron James! (more…)
